IMPORTANT! - Please read our disclaimer about the following information! The Rose Valley Reservoir trails is a mapped trail and trail maps can be bought at most local bike stores. The trail starts in a small parking lot with a beautiful mostly single track climb along the East ridge surrounding Rose Valley Lake. Most of the climbing is found in the first 3 KM. Once you reach the top of the ridge you quickly descend back to lake level and ride along the lake's East edge. This part of the trail is a XC riders dream because it provides a scenic ride plus a challenging single track section. Once you reach the North end of the lake, you begin to loop back by following West ridge. This part will challenge everyone who tries it because there are some short steep climbs, off camber sections and some short technical descents. Once you reach the South end of the lake you will see the reservoir dam on your left and you will then quickly drop down to the gravel road which is the access road for the reservoir. Follow the road back out to Rose Valley subdivision and ride back along the road back to the parking lot. Another option is to catch the trail that can be found at the end of a cul-de-sac. Refer to the online map for more details. As mentioned above, this trail is challenging and very few can ride the whole thing without having to put their foot on the ground at least once. Intermediate riders can walk the tricky sections. |
